Alan Greenspan Speaks to David Rubenstein

Bloomberg TV aired an interview this morning with former Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan, hosted by David Rubenstein (The Carlyle Group). This interview offers insight into many of the Chairman’s views: Greenspan is concerned with both the deficit (fast approaching $1T per year) and the debt; the Trump tax-cut is not going to produce 3% growth by itself; productivity is low because Corporate debt is crowding-out Corporate investment; The Chairman sees the early signs of inflation in rising wages; expenditures are out-of-control and the joint problem of Medicare and Medicaid is politically intractable.
